How we help

The United States taxes its citizens and green card holders wherever they live. If you are a US person living in Canada, or a Canadian with US income or property, we help you file correctly on both sides of the border.

We prepare US individual returns alongside your Canadian return so foreign tax credits, treaty positions and reporting all line up. We also help with foreign account reporting and with catching up on missed filings.

For businesses, we support Canadian companies with US operations and US owners of Canadian corporations.

What is included

  • US individual returns for residents of Canada
  • FBAR and Form 8938 foreign account reporting

US and cross-border tax FAQ

Answers to common questions in Ontario.

Do US citizens living in Canada have to file US returns?

Yes. US citizens and green card holders generally must file a US return every year on their worldwide income, even if they live in Canada. Foreign tax credits and the tax treaty often reduce or eliminate the US tax owing.

What is an FBAR?

The FBAR (FinCEN Form 114) reports foreign financial accounts when their combined value exceeds US$10,000 at any time during the year. US persons with Canadian bank or investment accounts commonly need to file one.

I missed several years of US filings. What can I do?

The IRS has programs for people who did not file for non-willful reasons. We review your history and recommend the best route back to compliance.

How much do us and cross-border tax services cost?

Fees depend on the scope and complexity of your situation. After a free consultation we give you a clear quote before any work begins.

Do you provide us and cross-border tax outside Toronto?

Yes. We serve Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Oakville and the wider GTA, and we work with clients across Canada by phone, video and secure online document sharing. Call (647) 527-4970 to get started.
